2024 Annual Golf Tournament(Late Posting)
The CFA Society Korea`s 2024 Annual Friendly Golf Tournament, held on June 28th at Yangju Country Club, concluded successfully with six teams (24 participants) in attendance under clear skies.
The tournament results were as follows: Doeun You (Best Gross/80), Sean Kang (2nd Gross/82), Dong-Woo(Don) Chung & Young Jong Chi (3rd Gross/83). Other winners included Young Jong Chi (New Perio Winner, Men), Suh Yon Koh (New Perio Winner, Women), Yonghyun Kim (Nearest, 3m), and Byung Jun Oh (Longest, 310y).
We extend our gratitude to the CFA Society Korea Program Committee for their efforts in organizing this wonderful golf event.

The CFA Roadshow at BEXCO, held on July 5 at the Busan BEXCO Convention Center, was successfully completed. The roadshow was attended by approximately 120 students from 14 universities, including members of university finance clubs in the Busan area, and it ran from 3 PM to 6 PM.
Busan, Korea`s second-largest city, has high growth potential in the financial sector. However, compared to students in the Seoul area, university students in Busan have fewer career coaching opportunities. To introduce the CFA Program and provide information and insights on financial careers to students aspiring to work in the financial sector, CFA Society Korea held the CFA Roadshow at BEXCO for the second time, following last year`s event at Pusan National University.
The event featured speakers from CFA Society Korea, including Dong-Woo(Don) Chung, CFA, JunMin Kim, CFA, JeongHwan Na, CFA, TJ Hyun, CFA, JISU KIM, CFA, Soojeong Shin, CFA, Hyeonjin Kim, CFA, and Sehwan (Sean) Kang. Additionally, students from university finance clubs such as SIC and BUGS assisted with the event.
CFA Society Korea plans to continue promoting the CFA Program in the Busan area and supporting the development of more CFA Charterholders through ongoing interest and support.

On June 28th, at the Westin Josun Seoul, we had the honor of hosting a special fireside chat event with Nobel Laureate Dr. Myron Scholes. This exclusive event, co-hosted by CFA Society Korea and Janus Henderson, attracted around 150 attendees from across South Korea, eager to hear Dr. Myron Scholes` lecture.
The event began with a welcome and introduction from Sehwan (Sean) Kang of CFA Society Korea, followed by Kee Pyoung (Kay) Lee of Janus Henderson, who introduced Dr. Scholes. Dr. Scholes then delivered an inspiring 20-minute presentation on "2024 Macro Outlook and Beyond: The Power of Option Market Signals." Following this, Andrew Shin moderated a 30-minute fireside chat and a 20-minute live Q&A session.
Before the event concluded, we surprised Dr. Scholes with a birthday celebration for his upcoming 83rd birthday on July 1st. The 150 attendees joined in singing happy birthday, creating an unforgettable memory for Dr. Scholes.
Once again, Happy 83rd Birthday to Dr. Myron Scholes! We extend our heartfelt thanks to the 150 participants and our co-host, Janus Henderson, for making this wonderful surprise event possible.
